June 2021: Bill Reed and Scout
Bill Reed, one of our newest members, has had a lifelong interest in all things that fly, and as a USAF veteran, he has quite a bit of knowledge. During the COVID shutdown, when Bill and his wife introduced their 3 sons to R/C cars and trucks, Bill started flying R/C aircraft. After flying with a small Sport Cub S, he began building Flite Test foamboard planes, a natural move considering he's a CNC machinist/engineer by trade and accustomed to design work and hands-on construction.
Bill enjoys training with and learning from the other club members. When not flying, or spending time with his family, he's on staff at the Lake Erie Nature & Science Center, working as its Astronomy Club director, presenting shows in the planetarium, and serving as its resident telescope specialist.
