Radio controlled (R/C) flying, is a rewarding hobby. However it can be challenging, even overwhelming to learn on one's own. To learn how to fly a R/C plane successfully and safely, it's best to seek out an RC club that will support you. The Lorain County R/C Club, Inc. (LCRC) is one of those clubs!
As an AMA chartered club, LCRC has many members proficient in aircraft setup and flight. We will be happy to guide you through your flying experience making it pleasant and enjoyable. Truth be told though your first few flights are often "white knuckled" and full of "pucker factor". For most of us that is part of the joy of the hobby and never really goes away completely. Even a seasoned pilot will sometimes experience this when taking a new plane up for a maiden fight.
The LCRC members who guide you through flying experience are primarily available evenings and weekends. Once you have met a few of us and we have exchanged information we are only a text, phone call or email away. We will help with any technical issues you may have with your equipment.
Come to a meeting first if you like. Guests are always welcome at our meetings and summer meetings at Crawford Field are an especially good time to inquire about your journey through the R/C flying experience.
Our flying site, Crawford Field is located in rural Elyria and has a runway approximately 550' long x 75' wide. It is surrounded by approximately 40 acres of obstacle-free farmland. A great field for both beginners and experienced flyers.
In order to join LCRC, a new member must first have an AMA membership.
